“Closing your eyes isn’t going to change anything. Nothing’s going to disappear just because you can’t see what’s going on. In fact, things will even be worse the next time you open your eyes. That’s the kind of world we live in. Keep your eyes wide open. Only a coward closes his eyes. Closing your eyes and plugging up your ears won’t make time stand still.”—Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore (via likeafieldmouse)
Trees talk to each other at night.
All fish are named either Lorna or Jack.
Before your eyeballs fall out from watching too much TV, they get very loose.
Tiny bears live in drain pipes.
If you are very very quiet you can hear the clouds rub against the sky.
The moon and the sun had a fight a long time ago.
Everyone knows at least one secret language.
When nobody is looking, I can fly.
We are all held together by invisible threads.
Books get lonely too.
Sadness can be eaten.
I will always be there.”—Raul Gutierrez, “Lies I’ve Told My 3 Year Old Recently” (via 090108)
“Don’t start your day with the broken pieces of yesterday. Every day is a fresh start. Each day is a new beginning. Every morning we wake up is the first day of the rest of our life.”—(via happyasatree)
Sorry to all those people who I haven’t messaged back yet <3 I promise I haven’t forgotten little birds c: Today I work up completely sick which was absolutely awful because I had two exams today. Writing exams with a fever is honestly horrible. Thankfully, I’m home now. I’m just laying in bed with soup and studying for my psychology and history exams tomorrow. That’s basically the plan for the evening, drink green tea and study. Though, I’d much rather fast forward to next Friday when I’m at the Hobbit premier :D I hope everyone else is having a nice Tuesday!
“Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.”—Fyodor Dostoyevsky (via seabois)
“It’s going to be all right, sir,” Harry said over and over again, more worried by Dumbledore’s silence than he had been by his weakened voice. “We’re nearly there … I can Apparate us both back … don’t worry …”
“I am not worried, Harry,” said Dumbledore, his voice a little stronger despite the freezing water. “I am with you.”— J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
“A cloud gathers, the rain falls, men live; the cloud disperses without rain, and men and animals die. In the deserts of southern Arabia there is no rhythm of the seasons, no rise and fall of sap, but empty wastes where only the changing temperature marks the passage of the year. It is a bitter, desiccated land which knows nothing of gentleness or ease. Yet men have lived there since earliest times.”—
“I want to moan and writhe with you and I want to go up to you and kiss your mouth and pull you to me and say ‘I love you I love you I love you’ while stripping. I want you so bad it stings.”—Bret Easton Ellis
